    Nervous disorders : what are they ?

    Nervous disorders are problems that affect more than 70% of the world's population at least once in a lifetime. They are composed of problems related to anxiety, depression, insomnia, physical fatigue and mental fatigue.

    Anxiety

    Anxiety is an emotion that develops as a result of a feeling of threat to one's life or that of others. It is an essential warning signal to protect oneself, but it becomes tiring and harmful for the body in the long term. This abuse of anxiety is responsible for stress and nervousness that must be fought. Aromatherapy allows a fast and effective appeasement by using :

    • 1 drop of essential oil of Orange leaf + 1 drop of essential oil of True Lavender to be diluted in 18 drops of neutral essential oil (in adults);
    • 1 drop of essential oil of Camphor + 1 drop of essential oil of Lavender to dilute in 18 drops of neutral essential oil (from 8 years).

    These mixtures allow a local application on the skin at the wrists or solar plexus.

    Can essential oils be diffused to relax ?

    It is also possible to use in atmospheric diffusion during 20 minutes, to dilute in 9 drops of neutral essential oil :

    • 1 drop of essential oil of Mandarin ;
    • or 1 drop of real Lavender essential oil;
    • or 1 drop of Roman chamomile essential oil;
    • or 1 drop of Ylang-ylang essential oil.

    Depression

    Depression is a state of deep sadness, loss of pleasure and despair. This state is responsible for a great difficulty to undertake with major consequences on the social, family and professional life. To alleviate the disorders of mild depression, it is possible to use essential oils to stimulate the mood :

    • 1 drop of essential oil of Orange leaf + 1 drop of essential oil of Marjoram to be diluted in 13 drops of neutral essential oil (in adults);
    • 1 drop of Bergamot essential oil diluted in 19 drops of neutral essential oil (for adults).

    Can essential oils be diffused to combat depression ?

    It is possible to stimulate the mood using atmospheric diffusion, for 20 minutes with 9 drops of neutral essential oil in :

    • 1 drop of essential oil of Ylang-ylang ;
    • or 1 drop of Roman chamomile essential oil;
    • or 1 drop of essential oil of fine lavender.

    Insomnia

    Insomnia corresponds to difficulties in falling asleep, in maintaining sleep without waking up continuously and in being able to regenerate thanks to a restful sleep. Sometimes, insomnia is caused by an important state of stress and anxiety. Mood disorders caused by depression can also be responsible for difficulty in maintaining sleep, with waking up in the second half of the night. To improve the quality of sleep and develop a feeling of calmness, it is possible to use :

    • 1 drop of essential oil of Mandarin + 1 drop of essential oil of Marjoram to be diluted in 8 drops of neutral essential oil to be applied locally on the skin at the wrists or solar plexus.

    Fatigue

    Fatigue corresponds to a perception of an abnormal sensation of general malaise which can be temporary or chronic, physical or psychological so that it is difficult to have a precise definition. There are 3 types of fatigue :

    • Nervous (or moral) fatigue : it can be the result of intellectual or professional overwork;
    • Physical fatigue : it can be the result of a physical effort that is too great;
    • general fatigue : this is the combination of physical and nervous fatigue.

    Each type of fatigue can be treated with essential oils that increase the ability to concentrate :

    • for nervous fatigue : Essential oil of Rosemary cineole or Lemon essential oil or Peppermint essential oil or Scots Pine essential oil or Thyme linalol essential oil, 2 drops on a neutral tablet, to be swallowed once a day for 2 weeks;
    • for the physical tiredness : Essential oil of Cinnamon of Ceylon or Essential oil of Ginger, 2 drops on a neutral tablet, to swallow 1 time per day during 2 weeks;
    • for general tiredness : essential oil of Oregano compact or essential oil of Savory of the mountains, 2 drops on a neutral tablet, to swallow once a day during 2 weeks.
